Feb 2024 A CAPPELLA NIGHT
On Friday night (2/23/2024), choir students from both Warde and Ludlowe high school and from all 3 middle schools took to the stage at Tomlinson middle school for a crowd favorite, a cappella night! Thanks to a grant from the Fairfield Foundation for Education, all the students had the opportunity and honor to spend some time with Emmy Award winning producer, music director and arranger, Shams Ahmed who is based in Los Angeles. Shams also served as the emcee for the evening, and it likely is a night that won’t soon be forgotten!
The show lasted a bit over an hour and was on fire from the start. Literally! Moments into the introductions and right before the first group took to the stage the fire alarms began to blare. Audience members initially thought it was part of the performance but all quickly learned the auditorium needed to be evacuated. Thanks to the amazing FPS staff, all students and audience members were able to safely exit the auditorium. Local firefighters came to the scene and within 25 minutes the all clear was given and everyone returned and the show started.
