2. SUMMER  2019 MUSIC CAMP GRANTS

DEADLINE: APRIL 7, 2019

Purpose of the Grant Program

To provide financial support for music students that wish to pursue additional enrichment opportunities in music. Sharing the skills learned beyond the classroom with high school ensembles is an integral part of the grant program. Therefore, only students who commit to performing in their high school ensembles the next school year will be considered.


Award Amount

The amount of the grant will be determined by the total number of applicants and the current year grant budget. As there are a limited number of grants available, typical awards are $200 each. The MPA Summer Grant Committee will review each and all applications that meet the eligibility criteria below to determine Grant recipients.


Eligibility Criteria

Students who are eligible for an MPA Summer Music Grant: 1) Current Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors who will be enrolled in either an FLHS or FWHS music class next year, and 2) Will attend a music camp or similar activity (sorry, the grant cannot be used for private lessons, theater camps or summer music trips).

DARIEN HIGH SCHOOL


Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe’s music programs are proud to announce that a combined total of 90 students have been accepted into the Connecticut Music Educators Association’s Western Regional Festival.  Each year, students have the opportunity to audition for the festival where they are offered professional evaluation of their performance skills and receive scores based on their performances.  Based on their scored evaluations, students are selected to participate in the festival where they combine with other students throughout the region to perform with a guest conductor.  Participation in the festival requires excellent performance skills, as well as high level music literacy capabilities.
