Making Beautiful Music Together

Attention FWHS and FLHS music students: Please come to our College Panel evening, Tuesday Jan. 10, 7:30pm at Ludlowe.

Recent Warde and Ludlowe grads will discuss how they are continuing to participate in music while at college.  Bring your questions to this informative and maybe even inspiring forum!

No need to RSVP, just come to tomorrow night’s panel.  Students and/or parents are both welcome, the weather forecast looks clear, and we hope you’ll come to this enlightening panel.  Email us if you have any questions, and we hope to see some of you tomorrow night at Ludlowe.

Opportunities to Join the MPA Board for 2016-2017 school year!

Great things about being part of the MPA Board:

  • Board members are “in the know” early on for big music events – including field trips (Do you know what is coming up for next year?), concerts and other music happenings.
  • The efforts of the MPA improve the experience for all of our talented music students.
  • We hear firsthand about how fabulous the high school music program is!  Did you know that there are a record number of Western Region and All State participants this year?
  • Meet some really, really, really wonderful music parents!!!
  • There are numerous opportunities to work directly with our fabulous music students.
  • The efforts of the MPA make the music program better and stronger.
  • Board members are on a first name basis with the music directors at both schools. The music teachers attend our monthly MPA meetings and share what is going on in their ensembles.
  • It feels good to give back to the music program that gives so much to our children.

The following MPA Board positions are open for this year:

*Uniform Coordination:  We have a wonderful returning co-chair for this role, but she needs some additional help.  The music teachers greatly appreciate this role!!  The busiest time is in the fall when tuxedos and gowns are distributed to incoming freshmen and again in the spring when seniors return their uniforms.

*Pep Band Snack Coordinators:  The pep band members LOVE snacks at half time during home football games.  If you are able to help keep this tradition alive (and be hugely appreciated by band students and the band director!), please let me know!

Best wishes to you and your music students as the school year comes to an end!
